RARE vintage Asian Napalese Copper Chased and Repousse Calendar Plaque with Buddhist mandala in center. Made of Copper and silver plate in the 50's.
Handmade process of chasing is hammering malleable metal from front side to sink the metal. Repousse shapes malleable metal by hammering from reverse side to create design in low relief. Zodiac and Astrology symbols. Mandela in center is a geometric configuration of symbols to help focus attention and aid in meditation. Measures 13.5" wide and 11.25" high.
