“Sentinel” Pocket Watch (40s-50s) by E. Ingraham Co.

This is a beautiful “Sentinel” Pocket Watch w/ Roman Numeral Dial & Daily-Wind System (40s-50s) by E. Ingraham Co.

The face of the watch reads:
“Ingraham” & “Made by the E. Ingraham Co., Bristol, Conn.. U.S.A.”

The reverse reads:
“The E. Ingraham Co., Bristol, Conn.. U.S.A. 56” Below that, there’s a gauge that moves between “S” & “F” -though I have no idea what this indicates.

It does work. These watches must be wound regularly. (This one seems to run fast.)

A previous owner would have added the brooch attachment & bling… it wouldn’t have been original. *smile* (There are a couple of the larger rhinestones missing—but if you choose to leave the bling, they shouldn’t be hard to replace.)

The E. Ingraham Co. was founded in 1831 & became one of the premier clock & watch manufacturers of American industry during the nineteenth & twentieth centuries.

For more than a century, the company was a prominent family-operated manufacturer of clocks & watches.
