1956 Mediterranean Cruise Book USS Intrepid CVA-11 Hbk Very Good Condition

The USS Intrepid was an Essex-class Aircraft Carrier commissioned in August 1943. Known as The Fighting "I", she served with distinction in the South Pacific during WWII, including the Battle Leyte Gulf, and was later modernized and served with the 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean. Today she is a museum ship in NYC.
This cruise book from her 1956 tour of duty is a wonderful source for naval history, family historians and genealogists. It contains hundreds of photographs of the Intrepid and her crew, documenting many aspects of life aboard a US carrier during the Cold War. The overall condition is good with tight binding and clean unmarked pages. There is some fading and wear on the front and back cover, some bumping and fraying on the board corners, but otherwise this book is in very good shape. See photos carefully to judge condition.
